Just a little about me: I have a passion for people. I am currently working on my master’s with Houston Baptist University studying Marriage and Family Therapy. My wife and I have a nonprofit named FAST Help which stands for Foster Adopt Support Team Help. It is a closet that collects new and gently used items for families receiving foster child(ren) placements to meet immediate needs they may have. We collect anything from boxes of diapers and wipes to gift cards to be spent on formula.
Some of the things that we have given away include but are not limited to cribs, new car seats, strollers, toys, clothes, diapers, wipes, formula, and snacks. My wife and I have fostered three children and have had the opportunity to fully adopt two children. We have seen as well as experienced many of the gaps from within the foster care system and FAST Help hopes to step in and help alleviate some of those holes. Additionally, FAST Help is meant to be a place where people can get involved in the foster care community even if they are not able to take in children themselves. There are many ways for people to volunteer, give, and positively affect children who are in need. FAST Help is just one way to connect the community and try to reduce the amount of trauma that foster children can be exposed to.
When I am not writing for school or doing something for FAST Help, I am playing with my children or spending time with my beautiful wife. I love pretty much anything sports related and if I happen to find a little extra time, I enjoy taking pictures of nature and/or architecture. I also very occasionally like to write posts for my blog @ https://polymathwrites.weebly.com/my-blog
