Welcome Back students, and parents! I hope you all had a great summer and I look forward to an amazing year serving your students and exceeding all expectations!
How I got here:
My name is Jackie Callahan Lowry and I am super excited to be working with HMS as the Life Skills Teacher. I have been married to my husband for 16 years and we have 2 children ages 19 and 13. I had originally went to school and graduated with my Bachelors in Information Technology, as I was working on my degree I decided to start subbing which lead me to my first full time life skills aide position in Pasadena High School. We moved to Dayton where I started subbing then quickly picked up the full time position working as Life Skills Aide for K-1st grade. After completing my degree I went to the Oil and Gas field to work for 2 years, I quickly decided that my true passion and lives purpose was to work with Special Education. We purchased our home in Crosby where I decided once again to start subbing for both Crosby and Huffman and begin my transition on my teaching certification. Huffman won me over very quickly as I loved the small community and very welcoming staff. I quickly began subbing only for Huffman and took on a long term sub position which in turn helped them and myself into accomplishing this goal. This will be my 2nd year as the "teacher" I come with great experience and passion for these students and I hope that my love and passion shines through as we make this journey together.
I also work for Segnik Health Care keeping Special Needs kids/adults in my house in evening and weekends. I have been doing this since 2005 and love every minute of it.
I love spending time with my family, going to church, traveling, singing (Praise and Worship Team), swimming, Co-Ed Softball, and Bunco with my ladies group just to name a few.
I wish each and everyone that reads this can feel my true love is working with your children!!
